Abyssinians are a unique breed of tabby cats. The color variations that you see in most tabby cats today was actually breed out of abyssinians over the course of 85 years to the point that they now mainly come in ruddy and red varieties. It is believed that these are the cats that were once worshipped by Ancient Egyptians as they closely resemble the mummified cats that have been discovered and because of the fact that the first known abyssinians came from Abysinnia which is now known as Ethiopia. These are very intelligent and people-oriented cats.Though they make good family pets, they bond closer to adults and older children. They also get along well with dogs though they will likely teach the dog who the boss is.
These are precious! They also have some interesting facts about them. I've never heard of cats getting along well with dogs. lol
ReplyDeleteAll of our cats get along great with our dogs and vise versa but thats because they were raised around them since they were basically born, especially our dog talon. Surprisingly enough our cats also have been friends with fish, instead of pawing at them to try to catch them and eat them, they paw at them and watch them move around. Thats the thing about cats, they always surprise ya.
DeleteIt is cool that get along with dogs. People could have both inside the house and it wouldn't be a problem.
ReplyDeleteThats neat though!
ReplyDeleteI've really been enjoying reading about all of the cat breeds. Maybe sometime in my lifetime I will be more attracted to cats. Right now I prefer dogs.
